Workshop Descriptions

Birch bark frame making-Craftsman and painter, Susan Cacici, has been making and embellishing frames using birch bark for over ten years. She will teach the class how to assemble two small frames (4"x6" and 5"x7") adorning them with birch and various other naturally sourced items.

Cost-$105.00 (includes materials and lunch)

Jewelry making-Professional metal smith,Jennifer O'Reilly, will instruct the class in the creation of hand formed sterling silver dangle earrings with a gemstone and delicate chain drop (there will be many different options from which to choose).The basic skills of forming, cutting, hammering, texturing, filing, and optional oxidizing will be taught.

Bread basket-Since bread making has become so popular, what better time to weave basket to put it in. Old Forge basktet maker, Barbara Green, will instruct the class and also include a selection of beautiful pottery "warming stones" made by Marie Imundo to complete the set.

Barn Quilt-Sara Meays,of Holland Patent, will lead the class in the creation of a 2'x2' exterior wooden barn quilt. Your board will be pre-drawn with your choice of pattern. Your colors will be prepared in advance. You will need to pre-register with Sara using this link to register for the class.

Ice Tie-dyed Scarf-Join maker of many things, Natasha Gadway, as she guides participants throught the step-by-step process of designing and personalizing a 27"x79" dyed scarf. Examples of tying and dying techniques will give you plenty of inspiration for the final outcome. Cost-$55.00
